La Plotte (Metis Game) |
La Plotte was a West Side Metis ball game, it is somewhat similar to baseball as it uses a bat and 4 bases. But the rules are completely different from regular baseball. Below is a PDF of how to play La Plotte and the rules involved.

Head Pull
The Head Pull game was first played by Inuit people but is played by many different cultures, including the Metis.
Description
- 2 people face off against each other. Both competitors lie belly down with a a large elastic band that is used in fitness or a tied together sash. The the band/sash goes around each of the players heads and both player should be facing each other.
- The objective is to try and pull the other person across to your line. The game is finished when either one of the opponents is pulled across the line or the band/sash falls off the head.
- Safety precautions needed to be taken for this game, it would be best fit for a high school level PE class.
